A month after Alexander offered to clean the room, do Arno's laundry, and handle his chores, it has practically become his obligation.

Arno is grateful to Alexander but lets him serve him practically as his domestic employee; he has stopped making the effort to make his bed and never bends down to pick up his clothes.

The only duty he maintains is to wash his boxers because he doesn't like Alexander touching them... and he is so careless that on more than one occasion he has had to wear the same pair for two days because he forgets that simple task.

Alexander wakes Arno up every morning very early to explain what he has done for homework, and Arno, who is quite intelligent, understands well what Alexander has done and submits his work successfully.

Mr. Cortez, the person in charge of the dormitories, is the only one who occasionally notices that something in the dynamic of the two roommates is suspicious.

Cortez is a thirty-year-old Black man, with mahogany skin, short hair like Alexander, and a thick mustache above his plump brown lips. He always wears dress pants that accentuate his prominent glutes and show off the robustness of his legs.

Cortez is very insistent with Alexander about whether he gets along with Arno and if everything in their room is in order; Alexander always responds affirmatively.

In a chance encounter in the elevator, Cortez asks Arno the same question.

"Why do you ask, sir?" Arno questions. "Has Alexander said anything to you?"

"No, on the contrary," Cortez replies in his calm tone and psychologist's voice, keeping his hands in his pockets. "I often see Alexander in the laundry room, and I've seen him grab brooms from the common closet, but I never see you cleaning," he says insightfully.

Arno knows how to be cynical when he wants to and responds without concern, "Well, the next time it's my turn to clean, I'll call him so he can see that I also contribute to the room." Arno smiles, and Cortez merely shrugs, "It's not necessary," he tells him, "forgive my doubts."

However, Arno remains uneasy, not because of Cortez, but because deep down, he doesn’t understand why Alexander behaves so helpfully toward him.

An idea comes to his mind, and he stays in the hallway outside his room, pulling up a fake profile on a well-known gay dating site on his phone.

The first profile that appears has the headline: "submissive Black slave seeks White Master." The distance makes it evident that it's about Alexander, but Arno also recognizes from the profile pictures his room and the body of Alexander lying on the floor with his face down.

Without fully understanding why, Arno fills with rage; he feels used... what seemed like a good gesture from his roommate is actually some kind of fetish... furious and anxious, he decides not to enter the room and goes to a nearby bar to drink with some friends he finds.
